Okay, it does look like Daniel L. Franklin and Columba Pearson were James Thaddeus Franklin's parents. And Daniel does have a brother named Benjamin Franklin.Probably every Franklin family has been told they are related to "the" Benjamin Franklin, I know I have been told that, however most are not.Maybe that starts around because a male child was named Benjamin, possibly after the noted one.
It appears that Daniel's parents were Bennett Franklin and Elizabeth Richardson.Bennett left a will in which Daniel L. is named.

There are some family files that takes the family back farther into VA, but I couldn't say postively that they are correct. One would need to do more research on the family.
