I have found out my grandfather was born in Lampertheim, Hessen, Germany and married Friederike Strasser,Nutzingen, Wurttemberg, Germany in New York City on March 26th, 1892. One of their sons was named Frederick. I wonder if my grandfather settled in Erie because he was related to your Franz. Is your relative buried in Erie? If so I could check out some info for you.
