Searching for the husband's first name of Mary Grace Hoffman (b. 1874 in Clinton County, MI) who married a Mr. FRANZ and they moved to Detroit, Michigan by 1915. Mary Grace Hoffman was the daughter of William H. Hoffman (b. 1840 in Jackson, Michigan) and Emily Hause (b. 1839 in Elmira, New York). Mary Grace Hoffman had a brother named William Devere Hoffman (b. ca 1888 in MI).
From William H. Hoffman's civil war pension file, he indicates that he adopted William Devere Hoffman but does not say who William Devere Hoffman's biological parents were. Would like to find decendants of Mary Grace Hoffman (who married Mr. Franz) to try to discover if anyone knows who William Devere Hoffman's biological parents were.
Mary Grace Hoffman Franz' mother Emily A. Hoffman died at the home of " Grace" Franz in May 1917 in Detroit, Michigan. She is buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan.
