Just prior to the dates mentioned many Volgadeutsch were "encouraged" to leave Southern Russland. The largest contingent of Franzs went to South Africa, the next, mostly back to Germany, primarily West Prussia where MY Franz came from. Other large groups went to ND, Sask Can, Austria And a large contingent to Chile. Could it be that Your Franz were Volgadeutsch? If you do not know about Volgadeutsch write me. I would also wish to know if one finds any info on specific families from teh S. Volga region. Danke sher.
Johann
