Frasiers: Scottish or French?

My brother and I are debating as to the origin of the Fraser/Frasier lineage. I know that Frasier comes from the French "fraisse," but I am convinced that my brother and I are of Scottish descent. He disagrees because our crazy grandmother and aunt told him that he's French, although her family is German or something. Our aunt also informed him that Frasier with an I in it is French - a statement for which I have found no evidence. His argument is flawed, however, because our grandmother gave me the Fraser family tartan a few years ago. My question is this:

Do any of you know if the current day F-R-A-S-I-E-R family is of French origin?
