I am a descendant of Shadrac (Shade, Shadrick, Shadrack) Frater who was born in New Bern, N. C. in approximately 1845. He lived in Smith and Henderson Counties, Texas during the late 1800's through 1936. I believe that he had a sister whose name was Rebecca, who went back to North Carolina in about 1866. I would love to be apprised of any information that one might have about the Fraters of North Carolina. I would also like to know if anyone might know of a Hugh Frater and other Fraters who originated from Madagascar. Thanks for any help.
