Hi Greg,

My name is Michael Frater, my family has been in New Zealand for 5 generations. My uncle's name is John Frater, as was his father and so-on. The John Frater you are referring to may have some connection to my great great grandfather John Frater who sailed to New Zealand from Scottland somewhere around 1840.

The history and knowledge of our family tree has since faded, but I thought that there was enough co-incidence there to reply to your posting. I will try investigate further
