FRYDENDALL/JOHNSONS of KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS
Posted by: Dan Walker (ID *****5747) Date: June 07, 2002 at 20:38:31

Would like information on the Frydendalls and allied Johnson families who resided in Kane County, Illinois in the 1890s through 1920 and possibly beyond.

My g-grandfather, Jonathan Colby Johnson, married Mary Frydendall on 25 February 1892 in Kane County, Illinois after his 1st wife, my g-grandmother Lovina Cover Johnson died in 1889 and is buried at Blackberry Cemetery in Elburn, Illinois.

After Jonathan Colby Johnson died in October 1908, his brother Mahland E. Johnson stepped in married his brother's widow Mary Frydendall Johnson sometime before 1918 as they appear in a farmer's directory as living on the Six Cedars Farm in Sugar Grove, Kane County, Illinois

Perhaps this helpful census information..........
1880 census, Blackberry, Kane County, Illinois

Agnes Frydendall, self, 70, Scotland
David, son, 24, New York
Peter, son, 22, New York
Mary, daughter, 17, New York.....she is this inquiry's subject.
Charles, g-son, 6, Illinois
George, g-son, 3, Illinois

I want to know whatever happened to Mahland E. and Mary Frydendall Johnson after 1920. Leaving no stone unturned in solving my Johnson line. Mahland E. was born in Bath, Summit County, Ohio in 1852. Cannot pinpoint him or Mary on the new online Illinois Death Certificate Index database.

Dan Walker,
the great grandson of Jonathan Colby Johnson
