Chris.....my name is Dave Frederick.I don't know anything specific about Thomas, but may be able to help in general terms. My great-great grandfather William Frederick emigrated from Sydney, Australia back to England in 1857 and then on to the United States in 1865.My great-great grandmother Johanna Lenore Frederick is buried in Sydney. All I know is that he, like most other English Frederick(s), was from near London (probably Essex shire). The name originates in the "old English" (Anglo-Saxon)language, and dates back at least a thousand years with the same spelling. There were never very many, but there are several Frederick listings in the 1066 A.D. "Doomsday Book" census.I have travelled all over the U.S. and Canada, meeting thousands of people with the name, but have never found any Frederick of English origin that was not descended from William Frederick.Of the 14,700 "Frederick" households in the 1990 US census, only eight were positively English.Chances are there were less than 40 if all geneoligies were known.
