Notes on the family of Henry Freedley (d. 1823) married to Catherine Isett:
This information was provided to me by a Freedley cousin. The source is a private Freedley/Vinton history commissioned in the 1930's or so. As such, I have no other sources or proof:
1. Heinrich Friedle came to PA in 1751 aboard the ship "Jane." He was a miller by trade and may have been killed in an Indian raid, but did not reach old age in any event. Henry Freedley (d. 1823) was his only son.
2. Henry Freedley (d. 1823) enlisted in a PA company in 1776.
3. John Freedley (son of Henry and born in 1793) was the father of Edwin Troxell Freedley. As of yet, I have no information on any marriage or other children of John.
4. Dr. Samuel Freedley had no children by either of his wives, but did have an illigitimate daughter to whom he left everything in his will.
(This may be my Anna Elizabeth Freedley born 1847, but I can't be sure. In the 1860 federal PA census, I found her living with Samuel, there were also two boys living there with the surname WOOD.)
Any information would be apprciated.
