Martha "Mattie" J. Powell was married to Joseph Salley 23 Dec 1879 in Ouachita County, Arkansas. I know that they had at least 3 children: Jessie (1877-1906, buried in Liberty Hill Cem. Dawson, Tx.) and Emma/Maude (Chamberlin? D in LA, unknown date and burial) and Joseph Salley/Sallee (7 Nov 1882-1977, my grandfather). Joseph Sr. died 4 Nov 1882, apparently in Brinkley, Ark. but no proof with unknown burial. Mattie then married Joe F. Freeland (B 1845 in Tenn; D 31 Jan 1887; Buried in Liberty Hill, Dawson) 16 June 1885, Hill County, Texas (ref. LDS FH). Joe Freeland was married to Eudora, B 1855 in Tex. They had two children, John and Clarence. Looking for Date of Death and place of burial for Eudora. Mattie L. Freeland then married R. D. Bills 7 Jan 1889 in Navarro County, Texas (Nav Cty ML) R. D. (1835-1908) and Mattie (my grandmother, B 9 July 1857; D 10 Nov 1913; buried in LH also) had Jack, Hallie (Tull) and Lewis (ref. 1900 FC).
