Capt. William J. Freeland War of 1812 Virginia
Posted by: Ronald Clemons (ID *****4540) Date: October 04, 2010 at 00:52:36
  of 1275

A Hezekiah Clemants/Clements is listed in the Virginia War of 1812 Records.

He served, as a private, five months and six days [29 Aug 1814 - 21 Feb 1815].

In a company of light infantry commanded by Capt. William J. Freeland of the Seventh Regiment, Virginia.

A George Clements served with him.

But Capt. Freeland is not to be found to identify the possible county of enlistment.

The Virginia Regiments were formed by county.

See: Butler, Stuart Lee. A guide to Virginia militia units in the War of 1812. Athens, Ga. : Iberian Pub. Co., c1988.

Anybody know him or have the book?

Thanks
