Good luck! Don't know if this'll help or not . The Vreelands seem to have belonged primarily to the Dutch Reformed Church and their names seemed to the most part to be a first name, often Biblical, with a middle name meaning "son of" or "daughter of" plus father's name, hence among the Vreelands there was at least a hint as to one generation back. Unfortunately, with all the Michels and Garrets that show up among the Vreelands, there are a "ton" of Johanus M. or Abram G's that show up.
