John Henry Freeman
Hi folks
I'm still searching for the illusive John Henry Freeman. If anyone has any info on his family I would very much appreciate your help.
According to 1900, 1910, and 1920 census reports he was born in May 1842 in Ill. or Ind. According to his death certificate (info given by his eldest son, Thomas Jefferson Freeman) he was born in 4 May 1840 and his father's name was Thomas (mother's name unknown). He married Ellen Eastwood in Poplar Bluff, Mo. on 2 Nov. 1884. He was of Stoddard Co., Mo. They lived for some years in Harvile, Butler Co., Mo. then in Neelyville until sometime between 1911 and 1918. He died in 1918 in East St. Louis, Ill. He is buried in Greenwood Cem. in Bellville, Ill. with no headstone. His known children were
Thomas Jefferson Freeman b. 1886
James Henry Freeman b. 1893
Olly Freeman b. abt 1897 (died as a child)
They had two other children who died young. (names unknown)
John may have had a brother named Jack and they may have owned a tavern in Arkanas. After that John went to work on the Iron Mountain Railroad.
Any help on this family will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Tim Freeman
