I'm afraid not. Elizabeth Mitchell's son John went with his father Richard and step-mother Sarah Kent to South Africa as an 1820 Settler (Elizabeth had died some years earlier and we would like to know where and when). Richard and his son John were killed by Kaffir tribesmen on 23 Aug 1822. What may make this even sadder is that it may have been a case of mistaken identity. There is a report that Richards's boss, Thomas Mahoney, had upset the Kaffirs and they were out to get him which they did in due course but before that Richard and John were killed.
