Below are excerpts from a report sent to me by a professional Researcher in Lancaster County PA, Pam Hagen. Her address is listed on the webpage of the Lancaster County Historical society.

I did find records for John Friedly, several spellings of Manor Twp. I copied some of those records.I copied a few other records; however, there were very few people of these names living in Lancaster Co. at the time of John L. Freetly's birth.
Fridley family file: This file contains several letters requesting
research on Ludwick & ConradFridley/Freidley whose oath of allegiance
were recorded in Lancaster Co., @1776. Ludwick was b. 1758 in Cocalico Twp.,
Lancaster Co. , served in the Rev. War, moved to Cumberland Co. @ 1782,
then to York Co., and later back to Cumberland Co.Conrad was in E.
Pennsboro, Cumberland Co. in 1780 and Ludwig was there in 1793. { I found birth
records for Conrad & Margaret Friedly/Fritly in Muddy Creek Church records.
They had one son - no name given - b. 1758 and one daughter, Sophia b. 1772.}I
did not copy any information from this file.
She checked Worner's Collection, (cemetery index) v. 9, 11, 12 & 13 for your names. These volumes covered many Millersville & Manor Twp. cemeteries including Millersville Menn. & Millersville Zion Reformed Churchyard, while v. 9 has Mellinger
Mennonite. There were no names, any spelling in those books. Again, be reminded
there are 30 v. in the collection, each vol. containing at least 10 different
cemetery records and some with 30 or more.

records in German script by year, not alphabetized.
I checked 1812 to 1815 or pages 112-130. I did not
see your name. I believe I did a good job scanning
these pages.

exist from 1800 to 1850.
B. Marriage Records of J.J. Strine: All too late, 1866 for

Patton, 2001, file box 19. nothing found.
G. St. James Episcopal Church, Lancaster City, Marriages. nothing
found.
The other volumes are original records, unorganized and extremely time consuming to go through. No index. These were not checked.
5.I checked Lancaster Co. Will Abstracts, 1729 to 1820 and Wevodau's
Lancaster Co. Will Abstracts, 1820-1830. The only 'near' spelling was
Friedling, p. 57. This was the will for John Bury, Earl Twp. yeoman, 8
June 1814, 24 Nov. 1824 (0249). Caspar Friedling was married to his dau.
Barbara.
6. Orphans Court Records: John Freidly, Freidley, Freedley, died 1823
of Manor Twp. generated several short doc. all saying he died leaving
little to his minor children and everything was to be sold to provide for them.
Unfortunately, none of them is named. [I have made copies of these docs.]
7. Estate records: The same John Friedly above named, generated an
Inventory, Auditor, Administrative Account [which I have copies of]
8. Deeds: Amazingly few deeds for any spelling!I looked at the
Lancaster Co. Grantor Index and the Grantee Index, 1729- 1894. As I said in an
Earlier email, this is time consuming because all the "Fr" are not grouped
Together but by first name. I checked both indexes for all first names of last
Names beginning with Fr from the first recorded deed to about 1840 in case
There were heirs. I did not go into the individual deeds, as I had already
exceeded time. Here is what I found.
A.Grantee: Alex. Fredly -Henry Shank et uxWW 16Mar. 25,
1742 recorded July 25, 1794[no location]
No others that I saw. It is always possible to miss one of
Thesesince there are 30 or more on a page and not in alphabetical
Order butin chronological order.
B. Grantor:
1. Freidly et ux Christopherto John FranciscusRR 21
Dec. 22, 1787rec. Apr. 6, 1793Lancaster
2. Freidly et ux Stophel to Martin Kitsh T 198Aug. 5, 1776 rec. Aug. 19, 1776Lancaster Boro.[deeds not looked at due to time constraints]
Note: Alex. Fridly has an estate record in 1758. An inventory or administration.
9. 1815 Direct Tax. John Freedly in Manor Twp. I have copied this. He
is the same man who generated the orphans court and estate records. He owned
12 ½ acres and 2 small buildings as described in all the documents.I did
not check any other tax record as those are on microfilm by township.
10. Commissioner's Data base: This is awkward to use because it does
not do a soundex search. I put in at least 8 different spellings but I could
have missed one that is in it.I did not generate a record. This data base
contains poor children records and I had thought perhaps I would find his children.
We do have a book in the library for Poor children in York Co. but I did not
have time to check it.
11. "The History of Lancaster County" by Ellis & Evans. One small
reference each to Ludwig & Conrad, very early. I did not copy.
I believe that accounts for my time spent researching. I will mail out
The copies I made. There are 11 at $.25 each or $2.75 plus postage. I will
invoice you when I send them to you tomorrow afternoon.
There are no easy records available for this family. LCHS has hundreds of small church/
cemetery record books that must be individually searched. There are
also various manuscript groups in the Archives that can be searched.
research in this time periodis the most difficult, due to the lack of records. There is not much one can do if records do not exist. People passed through Lancaster Co. on their way west and either did not generate a record or those records have been lost.
THIS IS FROM ANOTHER RESEARCHER WHO I TRADED RESEARCH WITH LAST YEAR.
Laurie,
We spent a couple hours at the Lancaster Historical Society yesterday. Unfortunately, we didn't find much even with the different spelling ofthe family name.
Going through the Abstract Wills I did find a George Friedly inCumberland County which near Lancaster. It was fairly hard to read, but we didsee the name of John Freidly and a David Houser. The time period was 1801 -1825.
We will have go to Cumberland to see the complete document. Also found an Obit. for a Henry Freedly: Henry Freedly died on Friday last at Pottsgrove.Henry Freedly, in the
67 year of his age, an old and respected inhabitant of the county.Hisremains were interned on Saturday last, in the Episcopal (St. John's) buryingground in the borough of Norristown, attended by a respectable concourse of relatives and friends. Mr. Freedly was one of the few surviving patriots, who assisted in thegreat struggle for independence.Through the whole course of his life, he sustained the character of an honest, industrious and upright citizen, and a useful member of society.Norristown Herald, Oct. 8,1823.
Also a marriage record of a Jacob Freedly to Rebecca Messenger, both of
Kensington - Sept 13, 1832.
As far as I know that’s all the research I have that I have not put on here before.
I hope this helps someone with the Freetly family.
