Hello Ms. Scott,
Just thought I would mention that my family used to frequent Engel's Market (more of an old, very small convenienxce store) on route 88 in Finleyville, Pennsylvania. My Father built homes about 1/4 mile from the Engel residence which was a short distance behind the store location. We lived in Finleyville for about three or four years before we made the move to Glendale, California.
The Engel's (husband, wife and other family members) all worked at the store daily and during the evenings too. I cannot recall Mr. Engel's first name for sure but I believe it was "Fred" or "Bill". During the early/mid fifties, I estimate their ages in the range of 65 to 75 years of age.
If this information was of any help, please write back and I will attempt to provide more information.
BTW - We lived on Highland Avenue, Finleyville, PA.
