Could there be a connection??? I'm a Fresn. Looking for Quebec, 1800's family

I've found out tonight that my family name is possibly came from Frene and that might be a link to Frenette. I have hit a brick wall and I'm desperate.

I have hit a brick wall and thought maybe posting in here would help!

I have a Peter Fresne
From St. Constant, LaPrarie County, PQ
b. abt 1826
d. South Hero Vermont

He married

Elizabeth Charters(Chestres)
From St Jean Chrystome near St. Nicholas, Levis County PQ
b. abt 1836
d. Aug 24, 1889 South Hero Vermont

d/o John Charters and Catherine Roberts

Peter and Elizabeth's Children:

Mary E., Albert, John, William, George, Earnest, Charles H, and Archibald.

Archibald "Archie" Fresn is my Great Grandfather.

Most of the Children were born in St Remi Quebec, Canada.

The family moved from Quebec to New York State in 1864, then in 1865 they moved to Grand Isle, VT (South Hero)

I have looked in all of Quebec Church Registers that my local Genealogy library has and I have asked my family and we have reached a DEAD END!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
