Hi, Harold! Hopefully we can make a connection here!
You have your wife's great-grandfather, Michael Freshler, dob:5/1860 in Bklyn.

My great-grandfather & mother were Henry Freshler dob:1/1862 in NY, and Annie Freshler (maiden O'Hogan) dob:5/1863 in Ireland.

Sounds as if your Michael could be a brother of Henry. I don't have much on Henry except his parents were both born in Germany, and he worked for the LIRR from 1900-1920's.

I have recently sent away for a copy of the original SS number application for Henry, hoping for more family information. Have you sent for one for Michael? It should have his parents names and places of birth on it.

You mention Harry Edward Freshler dob:2/12/1894 died: 10/1979. There is a Harry E. Freshler currently living in Hinsdale, MA. I just drafted him, and David Freshler in the same town, a letter, hoping for a family connection. This could be the son of your Harry.

When I find out more I'll let you know. Thanks for your information and happy hunting!

Peace,
Cheryl
