Oh, my! I do hope you haven't given up on your quest here! My grandfather c. 10 generations back was Thomas Gardner(1592-1674) and married Margaret Friar! I don't know much except the Gardners were prominent in the royal courts of England, and lived in the area of Ingatestone Manor. Thomas came to the New World, Boston, before 1635, he and his sons were very active in the town's government.
