I have the following information on the Fricke family. Paulina was the daughter of Carl (David) Fricke, b. 24 Dec 1822 in Prussia; d. 3 Mar 1900. He had two wives, Caroline Hammerburg (note difference from your name) by who he had all his children, and Henricke Hoffman Steinlicht. His second wife was my gg-grandmother. Children that I have include:
Augusta Fricke, b. 22 Nov 1848; m. Frederick William Hoffman
Carl Fricke, b. ~1850
Gustave (Gus) Fricke, b. 17 oct 1854; m. Pauline Steinlicht
Ferdinand Fricke, b. ~1856; m. Marie Sheppleman
Paulina Fricke, b. 27 mar 1857; m. Carl Gerbracht
Mary Fricke, b. ~1868
I do not have a Frederick.
The story in my family is the Henricke Steinlicht and her husband started to America in 1883 with their children. Her husband, my gg-grandfather died at sea. Shortly after their arrival in IL, Henricke married Carl David Fricke, whose wife had died the year before. The families were interconnected as the Frederick Hoffman listed as marrying Augusta Fricke was her brother; also, the Pauline Steinlicht who married Gus Fricke was her daughter. Since they all originated in the same area of Prussia, my suspicion is that the family relationship started even further back.
Please email if you wish to exchange more information. I have no information on either the Hoffman or Steinlicht families before they came to America and would like to expand my knowledge.
