Stuart: I am a Fricke born in New Orleans,La --my father was born in Waveland,MS where his father's parents had moved in the 1890's my grandfathers name is John J and his father was Charles A Fricke from Hamburg Germany. I have a copy of Charles naturalization papers from 1856 in New Orleans He md in 1876 to Caroline Seither also of New Orleans both their parents were from Germany. My grandfather told me his father (Chas) and 2 cousins stowed away on aboat and came to America don't know if this is true or if a story to thrill his children, but on Chas's marriage certificate his parents are listed as John Fricke and Henrietta Eburg (Iburg) Grandpa always said he had relatives that lived up north ssbut never did say if they were Frickes, Lutz,Eburg,or Seither Does any of these names sound familar or is their any connection.
