Hello Joachim,
I am descended from Johann Diedrich Fricke. He married Teresia Schuntzmeyed-Snitzmeyed. I have their date of birth as about 1829 in Germany. My mother wrote the town name as Vanburg or Vansburg, Germany. On the census for Theresia it states Prussia. They were married 31 May 1852 in New Orleans. I have a copy of the certificate. Family information states that they were married by the captain of the ship and then remarried in the St. Louis Cathedral, New Orleans, La. They lived in the 9th ward.
Their children, all born in New Orleans, were:
John Diedrich, Jr. b. 7 July 1854.
John Henry, b. 14 Dec 1856.
Herman William, b. 8 Dec 1858.
Catherina Elizabetha (Caroline Elizabeth) b . 26 Jan 1861, my g grandmother. She married John Frederick Stiller.
Margaretha Francisca, b. 6 may 1863, married Joseph Albin Perrault.
Anna Marie, b. 16 Mar 1865.
Michael Charles, b. 8 Mar 1867.
Mary b. 1872, married Erwin P. Hill.
Have you any information on this family?
Thank you,
Evelyn
