Hi!

I'm also a Johann Fricke descendant;

Johann Friedrich Fricke b. 1762 Buehne-Warburg, Westfalia
d. 4 Mar 1821 m. Elisabeth Haverkamp
son Friedrich Ludwig Fricke b. 8 Nov 1816 Luetgeneder, Westfalia m. Karoline Steffens
son Joseph O. Fricke b. 6 Jul 1862 Luetgeneder, Westfalia
m. Gertrude Revers
son Joseph Dietrich Fricke b. 23 Dec 1889 Wattenscheid, Prussia.
We always thought the Johann name sounded very interesting but not sure as to why it was used so often. Searching the internet the origin comes up Hebrew and the meaning: God is gracious.

Craig
