Friday Family Genealogy Forum

Thanks for writing--I had to look back at all the notes to remind myself of how this came about as I do have Civil War "stuff" on Wm. Friday (same dates as you mentioned for birth/death) and know he was a private entering and leaving the Confederacy. It think it all stems back from walking around that cemetery with my mother and a Harbor lady and seeing someone in the cemetery had "Capt" before his name. My mother thought (naturally) it was her g-grandfather, William H. Friday. I was just beginning to have an interest in genealogy at that time (over 22-23 years ago) and had no preconceived notions about him. (I was really looking for my Cantrell g-grandfather; not the Friday's.) So much has been done on the Friday's, and there are so many people more closely related to them that I would not want to take the lead on anything like a tombstone. (I've never even seen a picture of the older Friday's; only my g-grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Friday, William's daughter.) If anyone closely related to the Friday's started such a tombstone fund, I would certainly contribute though.
