Cindy, This is sort of a "round the elbow to get to my thumb" sort of search. I am trying to find the maiden name of my great-grandmother Anna Vaughn. The man listed in the 1870 Barbour county census, Jacob Stern, is, who family lore says, my great-uncle Jake Stern Vaughn is named after.I am unsure as to what relationship this man may have had with my gr-grandmother and her husband John Vaughn. I was thinking maybe this James Friedman may have had a sister. It was only a stab in the genealogical dark, but I was sort of desperate at the time. I have learned since that it seems Jacob Stern had rented or leased some land to them at one time. Thank you for your response. Gail
