seeking information Friedman Murray from Brooklyn

Hello, I am trying to locate the descendants of Murray -Maurice- Friedman born in Brooklyn 23 or 28 November 1898. Apparently he had a only son, Howard born in 1925/1926 probably in Brooklyn. Help would be much appreciated as I live in France and don't know how to reach the proper archives. This family is unrelated to mine but my father who was an officer in the French secret underground army in Eastern France during WWII had been in touch with Murray Maurice Friedman. I have a letter from my Dad which is stating that Friedman had been helping the secret Army to hide Allied pilots/crews shot down over France. He also helped to provide food to the underground army. This happened between October '42 and probably right after D-Day, June '44. His birth date and place was mentioned. He lived in a French town named Toul, not far from Nancy, in Lorraine (near German border) My Dad asked the French Army to give him a medal. I don't know what happened after he wrote his (official) letter in October '46. Thank you!
