The James Friend you mention was my Great Grandfather, son of George Friend and Martha Alameda Everett. George's father seem to be MIA. His mother was Matilda Hoover (<-John Hoover, Elizabeth Shingledecker). I am told his name might have once been "Freund".
James had siblings: John, William, Fred, Walter, Jefferson Rosa, and Laura.
James apparently had a total of 12 wives in his lifetime, including my G-Grandmother, Viola Artisha Allen, her sister Virginia Eunice Allen, Mamie Kesterson, Frances Parker, and 8 others.
