Hortense Lee Friley Reynolds

I found my grandmother Hortense buried in Kentucky.(Mrs. Joseph C Reynolds) She was probably married more than once but not sure about this.

My grandfather is buried in Lewis County WA, Claquato Cemetery near Chehalis in Washington State. He died in 1930 and was only in WA over a year. He was born in Virginia and lived mostly in Kentucky. His parents were probably born in Maryland.

Waiting for my grandmother's death record for more clues for her. But finally found her!!! She is buried with her daughter Marjorie Lee Rogers and grand daughter Virginia Katherine Rogers and others in the Lexington Cemetery.

Address For Lexington Cemetery:
833 West Main Street
Lexington, KY 40508
Phone: (859) 255-5522

Search the Lexington Kentucky Cemetery:

I have so many spellings for my Grandmother's name. Mc Farley, Mc Friley, now I see Friley in her cemetery record. Hotence, Hartense, and Hortence for her first name...even the name Kathleen. As far as the last name Friley goes...I do not know if this is a maiden name or a married name. Lee and Baker are other names for her. She was married more than once. James Friley and Rachel Pippin might be her parents or relatives of a husband this is a clue from a photo album......but "Kathleen Friley" is listed for her name (pretty sure sure she went by Hortence) in a photo album (Handwriting in front of the photo album dated after 1978 and could be inaccurate of course)

My grandmother, Hortense Lee lived with Henry Bates and Rachel Lee Bates in 1890 Letcher County KY Census...listed as a servant and lived next door to my grandfather in 1880. She lived with my grandfather Joseph Coleman Reynolds (son of Noah Reynolds and Chaney Stone) in the 1900 and 1920 Letcher County KY Census.

I am looking for information on Hortense and her parents. This is all I know so far but take a look at my other postings if you have any hint that you might be of my family or have some info to share/swap with me. I am working hard on her husband's Reynolds line.

thanks and good luck in your family searches!
