I have info on the Friou's (there are quite a few different spellings) going back to 1785 when Francois Friou arrived from France on a ship called the "La Bergere". You can find the ship manifest at http://www.terrebonneparish.com/acadian-cajun/ship2.htm and his name is listed near the bottom. He stayed in Louisiana upon arrival because he was sick. Write me if you need more info, or if you have some info going further back.
