In Reply to: Joseph Frith (d. bef 1740) Henrico Co., VA/m. Ann by Francine Cobb-Arnold of 613

I'm interested in any more details on these people.

I also have some specific questions:

Is this the same Joseph Frith? What are the circumstances for this item?
YORK COUNTY
Orders, Wills, Etc. no 14, 1709-1716
p.501, 21 May 1716, Scipio an Indian boy belonging to Joseph Frith adjudged 11 years of age.

Are there known descendants of John Frith, Crosia's brother?

One transcription of the will of Ann (Goodwin?) Frith, Joseph's wife, has her name spelled as "FIRTH". Was this will transcribed correctly? See below, also see the entry for Ann FYRTH posted at the same site. That appears to be the same Anne Firth, based on the names GEORGE HASTENES / GEO. HAISTIEN.

Are there OTHER documents for these people that use the Firth /Fyrth surname? I don't want to miss any because of using the wrong name. SO could John Frith's descendants have used the name Firth?

This is probably the SECOND marriage for Anne. It appears Ann previously married Robert Goodwin & had a son Martin Goodwin. Is anything known about Martin? Are there any clues to a first marriage for Joseph? Did Joseph have kids by a wife before Ann?

Lastly, once I saw some kind of court case that mentioned Joseph, but I can't find it now. He may have been a witness or juror. Does anyone have more info?

thanks
Richard Thrift
