Hello
This seems a very close co-incidences, my grandfathers brother was Jack Frith, he was born in 1920 in Hyde, Manchester. his parents were John Robert and Florrie Frith. I know he was friends (don't know about related to) people called Booth, but the dates are different. He signed up in mid 1940 as his friend Harry Booth had been killed in action and he wanted to get 'revenge'.
However I don't think he was in Canada as he went to the far East and was taken POW by the Japanese. He was killed on 29 November 1943, by the sinking of the Suez Maru. I am about to travel to Indonesia to visit the POW camp he was in and leave poppies. This is how I came across your post as I was doing some final searches.
What is your connection to Jack Frith? do you think there is a link here?
Thanks Jacq Crofts (nee Frith), I live in the UK, please do let me know even if you think this isn't my Jack Frith, thanks
