Frobose-Spilker, Bremen, DEU 1700s/1800s

My dad's cousin (my 2nd cousin or cousin removed or something like that) just got back from a trip to Bremen and Martfeld, Germany, and she sent me a package in the mail that just got here today. A lot of this is in German (which I don't speak), and all of it is hard to understand anyway, but I think I can get a little more Frobose stuff out of this. Here goes.

All places are Bremen, Germany.

From what we knew already, my ancestor Anna Catharina Marie Frobose, b. 1823, was a daughter of Johann Christopher Frobose, b. 1783, and Elisabeth Judith Wollens (or Wohlens), b. 1792(?). Now I learn that Johann Christopher Frobose was a son of Johann Christopher Frobose, Sr., b. 1743, and Maria Elisabeth Spilkers, b. 1741. Not sure if Johann Sr. goes back farther yet, but anyway, Maria Elisabeth Spilkers was a daughter of Johann Nicolaus Spilker, b. 1711(?), and Clara Margareta Liesabet Augsburg who had, I think previously, illegibled with Frederick Christoph Illegible in [Illegible]over. Johann Nicolaus Spilker's birth is noted as 1711 at Schurbusch. In context (for all the documents here generally), birthplaces are given as the church where folks were baptized, so "Schurbusch" might be a Bremen church (and my German dictionary is buried under a ton of stuff at the moment).

Any Spilker (also spelled Spilkers, Spilcker, etc.) people out there?

Lester Powers
