Hello Pat:

I am the granddaughter of Charlotte Frohboese Scheldt-Neuhaus. Her mother was Emma Lydia Frohboese-Scheldt. After Emma's husband died in 1921, Emma moved to Seguin, Texas to be near my grandmother.

My grandparents moved to San Antonio for their daughter's health. Their daughter (Elva) died at 18 years 10 months of age in 1931. Elva had Type I diabetes and contracted TB while in the hospital. My grandparents moved to San Antonio in 1929 from Alton, Illinois so that Elva could get help from the doctor's at the Chest Hospital. My grandparents and their 2 living sons did not move back to Illinois after Elva's death.

I knew from Dr. Rolf Froboese that there were some Froboese's in the San Antonio area. Dr. Rolf visited them during a "holiday" to the United States. Could he have visited someone in your family?

I wonder if somewhere down the geneology tree if we are related somehow? Hope to here from you soon,

Patricia Neuhaus-Joubert
