Fromal - Germany, perhaps to NY

Looking for Fromal information.

My g-g-g-grandmother was Barbara Fromal of Germany, and perhaps Alsace Lorraine. Her husband was Nicholas Bettinger or Bettingen, of same. Oral history says she was from Alsace Lorraine, although her daughter's US Census record for 1870 shows the daughter was b. in Prussia.

Their daughter, Susan (Susannah) Bettinger or Bettingen, was b. in 1834 and came to NY from Prussia in 1843-50. I believe she settled first in upstate NY, somewhere in the Buffalo or Albany area. I had heard that she lived with a Quaker family there.

Prior to her marriage to my g-g-grandfather, Michael J. Breidenbach, she was married and had a daughter named Susan Nauert-Gugisperg, leading me to believe the first husband's surname was Nauert.

Records indicate that she moved to NYC in 1858, where she lived in the Bronx until her death in 1908.

If it sounds familiar, would love to trade info. I have the line from Susan to present.

Judy
