Hi Steven:
I don't have any Sydney's in my line either, however, if we ever get back far enough we may find they are all related.
My grandfather was Alfred John,
g.grandfather was William Henry
gg.grandfather was William Henry
ggg.grandfather was John.
They all lived along the Thames,City of London,Rotherhithe, Bermondsey, Camberwell areas, and most were involved in barges and the river. Occupations included barge builder, lighterman and waterman.
Other male names in the family included John, James, Samuel, Henry, Richard. Female names included Elizabeth, Sarah,Ann,Louisa, Lydia.
