Fruit Family in Ill. and Wis.

Perry Fruit, son of Edmund Fruit, was b. Oct. 26, 1819 in Madison Co., Ill. and d. Jan. 19, 1906 in Lima Twp., Grant Co., WI. He was md. in 1841 in Ill. to Sarah Matilda Lampkin, who was b. March 29, 1821 and d. April 22, 1881. They are both buried in the Washburn Cem., Arthur, Grant Co., Wis. They came to Grant Co. in 1846, bought a farm in Lima Twp. from the Government. They were pioneer members of the Methodist Church in Washburn (now Arthur) and assited in building the first church in Clifton Twp.

The children of Perry and Sarah were:
I. I. Fruit, who graduated from the Normal School in Platteville, Grant Co. and practiced Law at LaCrosse, WI;
Nancy Ellen Fruit md. Albert E. Rundell, March 2, 1876, Lima Twp., Grant Co;
Martha G. "Mattie" Fruit md. John W. Brazzell, Aug. 28, 1870, Lima Twp;
Henry D. Fruit, was a Lawyer;
Julia N. Fruit md. E. A. Biddick;
James Perry Fruit, farmed in Lima Twp.
