Hello. Read your note after not having been on the site for a couple of years. My husband and I lived in Swindon, England for over a year (2000 - 2001) as I was tracing my Fryer ancestors. I ran into a man named Roger Bacon from Arlingham who invited us out there and showed us around. I found many Fryer grave markers at the church and a couple of houses built by the Fryer family. I have not been able to prove that my family came from there, but it surely "felt" like home. It was great. I descend from Richard/John/Richard Fryer who lived in Maryland for some time and then moved on to SC and then to KY. I would love to be able to find the "immigrant" and see if indeed they came from Arlingham. It is a beautiful place. Janet, now living in Alabama, USA.
