While doing my own Fryer research, on Sunday, November 30, 2008, I noticed your posting about Frederick Charles Fryer of Victoria, British Columbia.
Some, hopefully new to you, information can be found at http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca//databases/cef/001042-119.01-e.php?&id_nbr=402754&interval=20&&PHPSESSID=if3ih86o6p177a46psherq77d5 and http://search.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/sn-5A0E99D/query/Fonds,TextualRecords,VisualRecords,Movies,SoundRecordings,Cartographic,Library,WebPages,Genealogy/find%2Bfrederick%20charles%20fryer%2B%2B%2B%2B.
You can manipulate the images from the former URL, for greater clarity, with the IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com) viewer.
I am the great great grandson of Thomas Fryer, excise officer, born in #, County #, Ireland, in about 1810, and his wife, Ellen (Fryer), born in #, County #, Ireland, in about 1813.
Therefore, I am not immediately related to your branch of the Fryer family.
As can be seen at http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,316275.0.html, I am seeking more details about my earlier ancestors.
Regards, R. Paul R. Fryer
Victoria, the capital of the province of British Columbia
