Alfred Adolphus Fryer ,Marylebone & South Africa
Alfred Adolphus Fryer born 1833 Micheldean Gloucestershire to Samuel Fryer & Hannah Griffiths. He shows up on the 1851 census living with his mother Hannah (Widow)and sister Sarah Ester, living in Marylebone, London. Then I find him marrying Sarah Stoke Madge 1862 in Bengal, India. After in 1868 I found him marrying Anna Purdie in Canterbury, New Zealand.
He then shows up in Namibia, South Africa, where he buys a huge farm in 1886 called Kora Orap, the size was measured (two and a half hours by horse in all directions).
He was a Boer farmer on Khauxa!nas (gugnas or Schans Vlate). He was accused by the German administration of assisting Jakob Marengo in 1904. He was later exonerated in a court of law in Keetmanshoop, but his three sons, Charly, Frederich and Lutz, the youngest of whom was only 16 years old were sentenced to death and executed on 29 September 1904.Two children Wilhelm and Anna Fryer survived
and lived later on the farm Back River.

I am trying to find out if this is the same Alfed Fryer (born 1833, my ancestor ) I can find no further info. on the web. There are a couple of letters written by Alfred to Governor of German S.W.A. dated 9 Decemer 1910 , now in the Windhoek State Archives, which I am trying to obtain a copy of.
Also I am up to a brickwall with his father Samuel who died before the 1841 census in Marylebone , he married there in 1819, his wife Hannah was from The forest of Doven , GLS. cannot find a birth date for Samuel or who his parents were.
If anyone has any info. on this family, would be very glad to hear about it.
Many thanks in anticipation.
