Nicole - My name is Susan and my great-grandfather was Michael Fuchs, who had a brother, Martin. All the siblings were born in Bavaria. Not me).

Michael was married to Anna (Lang) Fuchs in Bavaria. They came to the states @ 1880-1881. Several children were born to them including my grandmother, but Anna also had 3 sons who died shortly after birth. She herself died in 1885 at the age of 25. Now we cannot account for one of those children- George Konrad Fuchs. He was christened in NYC, but there is no death record of this child. I believe because of his mother's ill health and family poverty, that he was adopted. I was recently directed to the St. Louis, Illinois, Indiana area to look for him. I lean toward the theory that he may have been adopted by a family member. Martin? I don't know for sure if our Martin and yours are the same, but I do have contacts in GErmany who are helping me with this.

Please let me know of any of this information sounds familiar. I am of course looking for adoption papers. Also the date of 1889 is significant, but I am not sure how.

Thanks for your time.
Susan
