Fuchs is German for Fox. Sometimes the name is recorded as such. Each census I found has the family in Wayne County, MI.

The 1880 census shows the family under the name Fox. Living immediately next door is Caroline 68 and John Fox 73.

The 1900 census shows John was Born Feb 1850 and Gusta Sept 1850. They immigrated in 1875 and he was a naturalized citizen.

The 1910 census shows much the same data. The 1920 census has them using the name Fuchs.

On the Pommerania, which landed in New York June 2, 1875 is the couple of Johannes Fuchs 25 and Augusta 25.

You can look at the birth records for several of their children for free at:

You can probably find more on the family at the same website.

John's naturalization papers should have when and where he arrived, confirming or is proving what I found. Their death certificates should have data on the parents.
