Hi Helena -

I don't know if this will help your genealogy search, but I went to the La Crosse, WI Archdiocese archives this week to find my great grand parents Michael Stuber & Margaret Resinger's marriage record. They were married at St. Joseph's on Sept 1, 1874. They had just emigrated from Bavaria. Both were from the Wald & Nittenau parishes in Bavaria. In viewing the record, we noticed there was a double wedding that day, with the same witnesses. They must of been friends or acquaintances at the least as my gg grandparents has only arrived in NY 7 days earlier.

Here's the other couple that was married:
Married Sept 1, 1874 -
Groom: Wolfgang Schneeberger from Althendann (I think that should have read Altnthann) Bavaria; parents: Wolfgang & Barbara Schneeberger.
Bride: Elizabeth Fünffinger from Nittenau, Bavaria; parents: Joseph Vogel & Margaret Fünffinger

I have a pdf of the marriage record if you need it. Let me know.

Thanks -
Carol Sebald, Jordan, MN
