Hi Sally,
Although I do not recognize your parents names, we are probably related. My dad was also born in Piedras Negras, Coahuila (Mexico) in 1922 (Dec. 13). My guess is, though, that in Mexico your father would have used the name 'Rogelio Ramón Fuentes,' because we use the following order: first name-father's last name-mother's last name, and your grandmother's last name is Fuentes. I do not recognize the names you mention but only because so far I have only been looking for my direct ancestors (plus their siblings and their spouses, but not their children and other descendants). Do you have any way of finding out the names of your great-grandparents, etc.. I found that it is very difficult to look up ancestors without knowing a few names and dates. I had the good fortune of having a relative with a remarkable memory who knew the names, relevant dates, and relationships of most of the members in my dad's side of the family, and that is how I was able to locate most of my information. I have not come across any recent information from Mexican parishes (listing christenings, marriages, and deaths), so I have started with the oldest known ancestor (dating to the early 1800's) in order to start doing my family tree. If you know of any famous ancestors it is easier to find information about other ancestors by looking for newspaper articles, etc. My earliest known (to me) ancestors in Coahuila were among the first settlers of a place which is now Castaño, Coahuila, and which was then Hacienda de Castaño. My great-great-great grandfather´s last name was ´de la Fuente´instead of ´Fuentes.´ He and his wife )and at least some of their children) were Spanish (and not Mexican) citizens. Do you know where in Spain your ancestors came from? Anyway, I will be happy to give you more information. My e-mail address is Let me know if you have more information or any more questions. I found most of the information at a Mormon Family Center. They have old parish records from Coahuila which are very helpful. Good luck. Patricia
