Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
My De La Fuente relatives were orginally from Spain. I don't know of any who went to Mexico or Cuba, but that doesn't mean there weren't any. I have found that many had large families, and there are children that I don't know what happened to.
My De La Fuente ancestors went to the Netherlands, (from Spain, during the inquisition) and then to Suriname, Netherlands Antillies, and my Father came to the USA. There was another group who went from the Netherlands, England, and then the USA. My tree has about 500 people in it.
According to my information, Simon Hyman Henricus De La Fuente was my ancestor who made the trip from the Netherlands to Suriname. He was born February 28, 1839 in Naarden, the Netherlands and died August 8, 1886, in Suriname. One of his children moved to Haiti, and another to the USA. My ancestor was the one who stayed in Suriname.
The earliest De La Fuente I have is Benjamin Henricus De La Fuente who died about January 11, 1750, in the Netherlands. If any of this sounds like it might be a fit for your De La Fuente ancestors, please let me know.
