The First Fugates

Recent emails and Genforum messages have me pondering the current state of research on the oldest known documents for Fugates, from whom all of us descend. We can be reasonable confident that all Fugates in America today descend from those who landed in Maryland in the mid 1600's. We also know from scant documents, that those Maryland immigrants came from England, but may have been Hugeunots from France.

There are quite a lot of Maryland documents for Peter and James, etc and many of those references point to even more in archives not generally available. The same must be true in England or France. So have any researchers out there dug into these records to add to our joint heritage?
