I have a FUGERE-CHAMPAGNE, I believe Champagne is the dit name or alias. I had been searching for Champagne from VT area, and finally came across Amable FUGERE-CHAMPAGNE ma. Julie DALPE in St. Charles Quebec. Daughter Apolline (Polina) ma. Alexis St. MICHEl in 1800. Fugere is probably French-Canadian. Two areas I found the name: QUEBEC-l-request@rootsweb, a genealogy mailing list, help site and also the LDS let me know if you need that site.
