Hi Cheryl, I feel I know your family I've seen their names many times without real conncections. Thank you for sharing them. I live in Carroll Co., Md. but was born in Amherst Co. and grew up in Lynchburg, Va. My grandparents were Robert E. and Daisy (Burley) Fulcher. Robert's parents were John Andrew and Sarah (Tyree) Fulcher. Other families include Burford and Stinnett as well as any other name. We may be related somehow distantly to half the county. My hangup has been John's father who was a John and mother who was a Mary (have marriage papers). There it ends. I suspect they may be the John and Mary in the 1860 Census in Nelson Co., but I can't verify it. Sarah died in 1908 and was buried in the "Fulcher" cemetary at Lowesville. I went there but couldn't find it. Nadine Picard very generously sent me pictures of tombstones in Lowesville of other Fulchers which may be distant relatives of yours. (Paul Fulcher and wife Sarh E. Easter Woodhall). John Andrew is not in the 1910 Census so I lost him. I have put together lines from John and Elizabeth (Huckstep) but can't show a connection. Isn't it frustrating to know more about other families than your own? I found lots of Mays which I spent some time trying to sort through but am not sure of. Do you have the Pierce Mays children (Jno. J.; Ro. Mays; Maria Smith;, Edwin; Edily Padget)? I have collected massive amounts of information on the Fulcher and related families but never put it in good order. This is my summer for the supreme effort. Let me know what I can try to find for you. I love doing it. It's quite a hobby! Regards, Fran
