I am a great grandson of Marcellus and Sarah and have inherited some and bought some of the original family farm. My grandfather was James Henry, brother to Mary Anne. Cheryl, I was in high school with your uncle, Garnett, and have visited him recently. Saw your Aunt Tessie last week at a Mt. Pleasant Church Homecoming.

I have been looking up deeds and wills in Amherst County to determine how the property has been willed and deeded over the decades. Like so may others in our family, I have had difficulty in finding the ancestors of John Fulcher who was born in 1763. I want to pursue the listing by Amy Taylor that gives more information regarding John's famly.

Part of the problem has been that Amherst did not become a county until 1761. Prior to that, it was a part of Albemarle, and before 1744, it was a part of Goochland. Goochland was formed from Henrico in 1728. I have searched records in Albemarle but not in Goochland.

Do you have any additional information on John prior to 1763?
