Right, I'm pretty vague on the Fulcher side of the clan right now. Actually I'm only about 90% sure that we have Fulchers, but it's looking more and more likely the more I find out about my Cowles.
I think that our John Cowles married Maria or Marya Fulcher on the 25th of December 1823 at Wymondham in Norfolk, which is about 11 miles south of Norwich on the A11 if you want to find it on a map.
They had a number of children in the town but I am yet to take either branch of the family back further. Marya was born around 1800/01 in Wymondham according to the marriage record on Familysearch (I haven't been back there since I found out about the marriage so I can't confirm it, hence the uncertainty... but I think it's the right one)
I have records relating to Fulchers from all over Norfolk but the one I think is mine is Marya (born in Ludham in 1799) to William Fulcher and Marya (Marie) Burton. The ages are close enough to my Maria Cowles from the Census returns.
If you would like, I can post the rest of the info to you in an email. (There is quite a bit, and as I said before it's all unconfirmed stuff from the Familysearch site), but it might give you a bit of something to go off.
You mentioned an Arthur Fulcher. I have a record of one Arthur Robert Fulcher born in 1884 in the Norwich area. He was the first of seven children to Robert Fulcher and Hannah Haughton and they came from a village called Heigham in Norfolk (married in 1880)
You can try posting details on the Familysearch website at www.familysearch.org (click on the link to access it)
Or contact me direct on the email addy connection with this post if you want to and I will send you a more detailed list of the families I have in my portfolio.
